CAIRO, Ill. -- Dorothy J. Chambliss, 87, of Cairo, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 1992, at Daystar Care Center. She was born Dec. 8, 1904, in Cairo, daughter of Raymond and Elsie Stuart Henderson. CAIRO, Ill. -- Dorothy J. Chambliss, 87, of Cairo, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 1992, at Daystar Care Center.

She was born Dec. 8, 1904, in Cairo, daughter of Raymond and Elsie Stuart Henderson. She married Flavie Elvis Chambliss, who died in 1948.

Chambliss was a retired registered nurse, member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and Daughters of Isabella.

Survivors include a niece, Betty Shoemaker; two cousins, Betty Stuart and Jean Swoboda, all of Cairo.

She was preceded in death by a son.

Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick's Church. The Rev. Jerome Fortenberry will officiate, with burial in Beechwood Cemetery at Mounds.

Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Thursday. The rosary will be at 7.
