ROCKFORD, Ill. -- Dorothy G. White, 76, of Rockford and formerly of Charleston, died Saturday, Feb. 17, 1996, at Locustwood Nursing Home in Rockford.
She was born Oct. 20, 1919, at Round Knob, Ill., to George Edgar and Essie Mae Bell Lowry. On May 19, 1936, she married Homer L. White, who died Jan. 30, 1985.
She had lived in Rockford since 1985 and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors are a son, Michael White of Sterling, Ill.; two sisters, Violet Schnur of Rockford and Bessie Tatum of Sikeston; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son and a half-brother.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston.
