Dorothy Estelle Jones Francis, longtime resident of Blytheville and Sherwood, Ark., died Sunday, March 18, 2012, in Rogers, Ark.

She was born Sept. 21, 1921, in Hill Creek, Conway County, Ark., daughter of David Gillard and Winnie Pearl Hawkins Jones.

Dorothy was a pharmacy clerk at Plaza Drugs in Blytheville, Harvest Foods and later Kroger in Sherwood, retiring in July 2011. She married Emery Louis Francis Sr. on June 4, 1943, in Blytheville. He died Aug. 18, 1989.

She was a faithful member of North Hills Baptist Church in Sherwood.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Emery L. Francis Jr. (Linda) of Sherwood, Stephen Gil Francis (Sandra) of Jackson, Susan Mary Oldham (Richard) of Blytheville, Lisa Elizabeth Colclasure (Shawn) of Rogers; a brother, Leon Jones (Delores) of Blytheville; two sisters, Marguerite Long (J.D.) of Columbus, Miss., Martha Black (Bill) of Hot Springs, Ark.; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Druid G. Jones (Polly and Marvelle), Hoyt G. Jones; four sisters, Zenoma Aulene Martin (Irvin), Edith Christine Perry (Herman), Ruby Pearl Mallett (Thurman), Beatrice Laverne Dunlap (Wesley); and a granddaughter, Jennifer Webb.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at North Hills Baptist Church.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with Jim Ward officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Conway County.

Huson Funeral Home in Sherwood is in charge of arrangements.
