Dorothy Deevers

Dorothy Deevers, 83, of McKenzie, Tenn., died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris, Tenn.

She was born May 15, 1924, in Rock Port, Mo., daughter of W.L. and Dora Napier Bess. She and Harold F. Deevers were married Sept. 29, 1946. He died July 5, 1994.

Deevers was employed more than 40 years at Emerson Electric Co. in Paris, and was the executive assistant to the general manager. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Groover of Parker, Colo., Barbara Coggins of Orlando, Fla.; a brother, Jack Bess of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in Paris, with Dr. Joseph A. Geary officiating. Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memory Garden in Paris.

Ridgeway Funeral Home in Paris is in charge of arrangements.
