GALE, Ill. -- Funeral service for Dorothy D. Wilson of Jacksonville, formerly of Carlinville, was held Feb. 16 at Heinz Funeral Home in Carlinville, with the Rev. Martin Miller officiating. Burial was in Carlinville City Cemetery.
Wilson, 87, died Monday, Feb. 13, 1995, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
She was born March 7, 1907, in Gale, daughter of John William and Myrtle Elizabeth Caldwell Chism. She and Frank Edwin Wilson were married in 1928 in St. Louis, Mo.
Wilson was a graduate of Blackburn College and received a teaching degree at Millikin University. She taught at Snedeker Grove School in Macoupin County and at Springfield High School.
She was a member of Memorial Christian Church, Order of Eastern Star, Retired Teachers Association, Business and Professional Women's Club, and charter member of Macoupin County Historical Society.
Survivors include a niece, Laverne Mosby of McClure; four nephews, a stepson, a stepgranddaughter and two great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
