CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Dorothy Marie Crump, daughter of Gilbert Lee Mills and Lesta Mae Haddock, was born Sept. 26, 1932, in Lowndes, Missouri, and departed this life Saturday, Aug. 29, 2020, at her home in Chaffee at the age of 87 years.
Dorothy was the owner and operator of Dot's Hair Styles for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Chaffee, past Ladies Auxiliary president of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3127, and past Ladies Auxiliary president of American Legion Post 389. Dorothy was a former driver in the Powder Puff Derby and a very faithful companion to "Calli Cat."
On Dec. 4, 1951, she was united in marriage to Ernest Paul Crump. He preceded her in death July 1, 2010.
Survivors include a son, Ernie (Teresa) Crump of Chaffee; daughters, Deborah (Steve) Hawks of Mountain Grove, Missouri, Paula Moit of Chaffee, Peggy (Mark) Uhrhan of Pocahontas and Kathy (Bobby) Sexton of Chaffee; grandchildren, Chad (Kristi) Uhrhan, Matt (Jessica) Uhrhan, Charlie Moit, Trey (Sarah) Crump, Nick (Sarah) Crump, Cory Crump, Elizabeth (Daniel) Edwards and Elaine Sexton (fiance Austin Carroll); and great-grandchildren, Bailey Crump, Lihah Crump, Luke Crump, Connor Edwards, Noah Uhrhan, Zachary Uhrhan, Mark Uhrhan and Carter Uhrhan.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Ramona Mills and Sarah Biler; brother, Dennis Mills; and granddaughter, Amanda Uhrhan.
Visitation and American Legion Auxiliary Post 389 rites were held Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at First Baptist Church in Chaffee, with the Rev. Josh Boley officiating. Interment will follow in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
