ORAN -- Dorothy Bryeans Bowman, 80, of Oran died Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998, at Chaffee Nursing Center. She was born July 25, 1917, at Oran, daughter of Fred L. and Lucy Alice Smith Sturgeon. She was a retired schoolteacher who taught in both the Oran and St. Charles public schools...

ORAN -- Dorothy Bryeans Bowman, 80, of Oran died Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998, at Chaffee Nursing Center.

She was born July 25, 1917, at Oran, daughter of Fred L. and Lucy Alice Smith Sturgeon.

She was a retired schoolteacher who taught in both the Oran and St. Charles public schools.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Oran.

Survivors include a son, John H. Bryeans of Perkins; a daughter, Marilyn White of Hopkinsville, Ky.; a brother, Fred L. Sturgeon Jr. of Oran; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. today at Friend Cemetery in Oran. The Rev. Ed Carter will officiate.
