Dorothy Marie Boston, 87, our dear mom, grandma, great-grandma and friend, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016, surrounded by her loved ones.

Dotty was born Feb. 15, 1929, in Modesto, California; she was the oldest of eight children of Floyd and Grace Gardner. The family eventually moved to St. Louis where she met the love of her life, James Thomas Boston. It was love at first sight. They married in 1947 and soon after moved to Blodgett, Missouri. They had a wonderfully blessed life together. Dear Jim passed away in 2003.

Dotty is survived by three brothers; three sisters; four daughters, Diana (Norman) Glaus of Cape Girardeau, Sue (Tony) Crawford of Sullivan, Missouri, Judy (Rusty) Stewart of Benton, Missouri, and Lori (Tim) Romine of Cunningham, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Ben (Mindy) Glaus of Crestwood, Missouri, Beth (Tim) Tallent and Trisha (Travis) Gatlin of Sullivan, Stacy (Jason) Ourth of Benton, Jessica Romine of Hickory, Kentucky, and Tyler (Jewelee) Romine of Cunningham; 10 great grandchildren, and one to be born in November; and many precious friends.

For the last three years, she lived at Capetown Assisted Living where she made many good friends and received excellent and compassionate care. Many thanks to Dr. Decoursey for his kindness and expert care.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service today at Amick-Burnett Chapel in Benton.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. today at the chapel, with the Rev. Dennis Lowe officiating. Burial will be in Blodgett Cemetery in Blodgett.
