TAMMS, Ill. -- Dorothy Jean Betts, 69, of Sebring, Fla., formerly of Tamms, died Sunday, June 25, 2006, at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida in Gainesville.
She was born Aug. 18, 1936, in Elco, Ill., daughter of Wilbert and Mary West Davis Sr. She married Charles F. Betts.
Betts was a retired licensed practical nurse. She was a member of Independence Baptist Church in Sebring and a former member of Elco Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Charles and Roger Betts of Tamms; two daughters, Mary Henderson of Murray, Ky., Joan Vick of Tamms; four sisters, Martha Atwood of Sebring, Kathryn Kerr and Margaret Marrow of Elco, Cheryl Sams of Thebes, Ill.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
Friends may call at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms from 9 a.m. to service time Saturday.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Jay Franklin and Tom Bridges officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery near Dongola, Ill.
