COMMERCE -- Dorothy Barnstone, 72, of Azusa, Calif., died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 1993, at Foothill Presbyterian Hospital in Glendora, Calif. She was born Nov. 26, 1920, at Commerce, daughter of Frederick Thomas and Mollie Adeline Sanders Bretzel. She first married James Beggs in 1936. She later married Al Barnstone in 1950...

COMMERCE -- Dorothy Barnstone, 72, of Azusa, Calif., died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 1993, at Foothill Presbyterian Hospital in Glendora, Calif.

She was born Nov. 26, 1920, at Commerce, daughter of Frederick Thomas and Mollie Adeline Sanders Bretzel. She first married James Beggs in 1936. She later married Al Barnstone in 1950.

Barnstone was retired from Rainbird Irrigation Systems in California.

Survivors include her husband; a brother, Gilbert Bretzel of Scott City, and a sister, Nina Spain of Warren, Mich.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. The Rev. William Dickey will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park at Cape Girardeau.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Saturday.
