GOREVILLE, Ill. — Dorothy Anderson Angelly, 89, of Goreville died at 11 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2008, at home.
She was born Feb. 24, 1919, in Union County, Ill., son of John Harrison and Elvira Viola (Arnold) Wheaton. She and Audrey Anderson were married July 12, 1935. He died Aug. 3, 1990. She later married Russell Angelly.
She was a member of the Busby Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Goreville. She had been a volunteer at the Goreville Ministerial Alliance. She was a past member of the Pulaski Alexander County Home Extension. She was a volunteer with the Massac Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by a son, Robert L. Anderson of Goreville; two daughters, Sue Barnett of Goreville and Sherma Cain of Elgin, Ill.; stepson, Gary Angelly of Brookport, Ill.; stepdaughter, Sue Borman of Metropolis, Ill.; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren, 6 stepgrandchildren and several great-stepgrandchildren; two sisters, Florene Smith of Marshall, Mo., and Ida Jane Childers of Plato Center, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; her parents; five brothers, Lester Wheaton, Herman Wheaton, Alfred Wheaton, Frank Wheaton and Luther Wheaton; sister, Faye Childers; and five infant siblings.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Brent Scheutz and Bob Ferguson Jr. officiating.
Interment will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens.
