Doris Jean "Dottie" Young, 68, of Jackson, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2011, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born Sept. 27, 1942, in Randles, to Paul and Nancy Pauline Bonds Tweedy.
She and Buddy Joe Young were married Dec. 22, 1961. He preceded her in death Oct. 11, 2002.
She was a member of First General Baptist Church of Jackson and enjoyed playing bingo.
Survivors include a daughter, La-Rhonda (James) Hecht of Jackson; two grandchildren, Jason (Kelli) Hecht and Jordan and her husband Spc. Andrew Lane; great-grandchildren, Emma Hecht and Jeremiah James Hecht II; and two sisters, Joann (Frank) Eaton of Imperial, Mo., and Frances Kight of Cape Girardeau.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather Paul Mobley, who raised her; her husband; and grandson Jeremiah Hecht, who died May 27, 2009.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral will be at noon Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mike Huffman officiating.
Burial will follow at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
