Doris J. Wilkinson, 89, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, Nov. 26, 2020, at Ratliff Care Center. She was born Nov. 21, 1931, in Millersville to the late Amon Andrew Jacob and Dessie Esther Seabaugh Moore. She and Bobby G. Wilkinson were married April 28, 1956, in Cape Girardeau. Doris J. Wilkinson, 89, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, Nov. 26, 2020, at Ratliff Care Center.

She was born Nov. 21, 1931, in Millersville to the late Amon Andrew Jacob and Dessie Esther Seabaugh Moore.

She and Bobby G. Wilkinson were married April 28, 1956, in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death Feb. 17, 2001.

Doris was a 1949 graduate of Jackson High School. She graduated from Cape Business College and worked as a secretary for more than 40 years. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and The Red Hat Society. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and entertaining at her home.

Survivors include daughters, Gayle Friedrich (Tracy) Messmer of Jackson, Lisa Kay (Mitchell J.) Glency of Cape Girardeau; sons, Bobby D. (Eva) Wilkinson of Cape Girardeau, Steven G. Wilkinson of Cape Girardeau; sister, Nadine (Clarence) Perry of Ocala, Florida; grandchildren, Blake A. (Lauren) Friedrich, Trent D. Friedrich, Kayla (Vince Prost) Glency, Brooke T. (Curtis) McElroy, Alicia (Robert Gramlisch) Wilkinson, Austin (Whitney) Wilkinson and Steven C. Wilkinson (Crystal Jones); nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Bobby G.

The family would like to thank all of the staff at Ratliff Care Center for the excellent and compassionate care Doris received.

Private family services will be held. Private entombment will take place at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri, 2536 Boutin Drive, Cape Girardeau, Missouri 63701.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau are in charge of arrangements.
