Doris Welker

MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Doris Jean Welker, 73, of Marble Hill died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2006, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Dec. 6, 1932, at Bessville, Mo., daughter of William Columbus "Lum" and Lillie Mae Smith Trentham. She and Leroy Jacob Welker were married Dec. 23, 1950. He died Jan. 28, 2004.

Welker worked at a hat factory several years.

Survivors include four sons, Danny and Ronald Welker of Marble Hill, David Welker of Sikeston, Mo., John Welker of Patton, Mo.; a daughter, Rhonda Toombs of Patton; a brother, James Trentham of Marble Hill; and 12 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Revs. David Jackson and Clifton Trentham officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery near Marble Hill.
