MULVANE, Kansas -- Doris Elaine Waymire, 83, of Mulvane and formerly of Cape Girardeau, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2017, at home.

A joint visitation will take place with her husband from 6 to 8 p.m. today, and a joint funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta, Kansas. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.

Doris was born in Eureka, Kansas, on Aug. 24, 1933, to the late Katie Josephine (Hughes) and Kirk Wallace Hall.

She was the executive director for the Butler County, Kansas, and Cape Girardeau area Girl Scouts councils and a cookie coordinator.

On April 13, 1952, she married L.V. "Bill" Waymire. He preceded her in death by three hours.

She is survived by a son, Kenneth (Ramona) Waymire; a daughter, Sharon Pippin; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Waymire; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a close friend, Rick Cook, whose family she considered as her own.

She was preceded in death by her son, Lynn Douglas Waymire.
