SIKESTON, Mo. -- Doris Redd, 47, of Sikeston died March 7, 2004 at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born April 29, 1957, in Sikeston, daughter of Leland and Betty Redd Baker. She was a graduate of Sikeston High School and Lane College in Jackson, Tenn.

She was an elementary teacher for Sikeston public schools, retiring after 20 years. She was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as church secretary and on the building committee.

Survivors include four sisters, Betty Williams and Patsy Townsend of Sikeston, Joanne Redd of Houston, Texas, and Janice Hughes of Memphis, Tenn.; seven brothers, James Redd of Toledo, Ohio, Charles Redd of Grand Prairie, Texas, Alfred Redd of Greensboro, N.C., Demegee Redd of Charleston, Mo., Jessie Redd, Wilbur Redd and Alvin Redd, all of Sikeston; and a special friend, Wilma Theus of Jackson, Tenn.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. Saturday at Green Memorial Church of God in Christ.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Richard Lee officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Williams Funeral Home of Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
