EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Doris E. Owens, 71, of East Prairie, died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2004, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Oct. 25, 1932, near East Prairie, daughter of Fayette and Christine Marshall. She married Bobby C. Owens in 1952. He preceded her in death on Aug. 31, 2002.
She had been the city collector of East Prairie for almost 20 years and was a member of First Baptist Church in East Prairie.
Survivors include two sons, Bobby Steven Owens of Titusville, Fla., and Gary Alan Owens of Williamsburg, Iowa; three brothers, Ross Marshall of Mountain View, Mo., Billy Marshall of Sikeston, Mo., and Dennis Marshall of Baton Rouge, La.; three sisters, Ruth Brown of Charleston, Mo., and Joy Ivie and Brenda Holdiness, both of East Prairie; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter and a sister.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in East Prairie. Burial will be in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
