Doris M. Bentley, 88, formerly of Chaffee, Missouri, passed away Friday, March 27, 2015, at The Maples Health and Rehabilitation Center in Springfield, Missouri.
She was born Dec. 7, 1926, in Thebes, Illinois, to the late Albert and Mary Margaret Bradley Souders. She married Robert A. Bentley on Dec. 12, 1971, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 1982.
Doris owned and operated Doris Food Mart in Chaffee and later owned and operated Doris Antiques in Cape Girardeau. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Chaffee, where she took care of the nursery for many years. She was also a member of the Chaffee Chapter of the Eastern Star, which later became the Morley Eastern Star when the two chapters joined together.
Survivors include one sister, Margie (Phil) Eastwood of Chaffee.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Langford.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rose Hill Cemetery in Thebes, with the Rev. Gwen Streeter officiating.
