ST. LOUIS -- Doris Loos Gee Kinker of St. Louis, 90, died Monday, July 4, 2016.
Doris was born Oct. 30, 1925, in Cape Girardeau to Samuel and Esther Koch Ulrich. She attended and graduated from Central High School in Cape Girardeau in 1943.
On March 1, 1944, she married Lloyd L. Loos and to this union four children were born: Larry Loos, Louis Loos, Martha Loos Mark and Scott Loos.
Doris will be remembered as being a very loving and caring mother, grandmother and aunt. She had many interests throughout her life, which included a passion for gardening and the many beautiful flowers she grew. Her faith kept her involved with her church and church activities. While living in Nashville, Tennessee, she enjoyed volunteering at Vanderbilt Hospital in the neonatal unit. She also took great pleasure in volunteering at Cheekwood Botanical Garden and The Circle Theater Group.
Those preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Lloyd Loos; a sister, Mary Clinton; a brother, Paul Ulrich; and a son, Larry Loos. Also preceding her in death were William Gee and John Kinker.
Doris is survived by her children, Louis (Sharon) Loos, Martha (Edgar) Mark and Scott (Debbie) Loos; a daughter-in-law, Sallie Loos; a brother, Robert Ulrich; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was steadfast in the love and caring of her family and friends, with offers of guidance and assistance when needed. She will be remembered for the great double-hugs she gave to each and everyone she met.
Her staunch faith in God and her church gave her strength throughout her life.
A celebration of her life will be Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Arnold, Missouri. Visitation will start at 9 a.m., and the funeral will be at 11 a.m. Burial will be at 3 p.m. at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer's Foundation or St. John's Lutheran Church in Arnold
