GLENALLEN, Mo. -- Doris J. Deck, 77, of Glenallen passed away Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at the Woodland Hills Nursing Home in Marble Hill, Mo.
She was born Sept. 13, 1935, in St. Louis, daughter of Charles and Helen Buckmiller Brewer. She and Jake Deck were united in marriage Nov. 17, 1951.
Doris had three poems published, worked in a shoe factory, worked as a CNA for several nursing homes and was a charter member of the White Oak Baptist Church, where she had served as treasurer for several years.
Survivors include her husband, Jake Deck Sr. of Glenallen; sons Jake (Jodi) Deck Jr. of Winter Haven, Fla., Joey (Polly) Deck, Jeffery (Patti) Deck, Jonathan (Becky) Deck, all of Glenallen; daughters, Janie (Ralph) Macke and Janet (Anthony) Jansen, of Leopold; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one step-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; an infant brother; four sisters, Dorothy Wall, Mabel Brewer, Deloris Deck and Charlene Lincoln; and a son-in-law, James Earl Mackey.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Harold Sitze officiating. Burial will be in the Glenallen Cemetery in Glenallen.
