Doris J. Collins, 74, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born Sunday, May 31, 1936, in Sikeston, Mo., to Ernest "Buddy" and Laura Turley Springs. She and George Collins were married May 7, 1954, at Bloomfield, Mo.
Collins worked in customer service in the catalog department at J.C. Penney in Cape Girardeau. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, George Collins of Cape Girardeau; a son, Michael E. (Margie) Collins of St. Louis; two daughters, Marla (Larry) Cruse of St. Louis, Marsha (Jim) Stewart of Boonville, Mo.; two brothers, Jim (Diane) Springs of Jefferson City, Mo., Dale (Verna) Springs of Farmington, Mo.; four grandchildren, Matthew Collins of Alexandria, Va., Megan (Gary) Delhougne of Broomfield, Colo., Tyler (Jessica) Stewart of St. Joseph, Mo., and Allison (Shawn) Footlander of Boonville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Richard "Dick" Springs; and stepmother, Mabel Springs.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mike Shupert officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston, Mo.
