ESSEX, Mo. -- Funeral for Doris Cain of Essex will be held at 2 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Mo. The Rev. Fred Leist will officiate. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from noon until service time.
Cain, 90, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2001, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.
She was born Feb. 9, 1911, at Frisco, Mo., daughter of Gardner Alexander and Mary Alice Starks Ray. She and Glendon G. Cain were married Jan. 9, 1935, at Dexter. He died July 10, 1974.
Cain lived in the Essex area most of her life. She had been a teacher at Hale School before her marriage. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Dexter.
Survivors include a son, Don Cain of Matthews, Mo.; two sisters, Ruth Marshall of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Olive Mitchell of Rogers, Ark.; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, four brothers, and four sisters.
