PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Doris Louise Brooks, 72, of Perryville died Wednesday, July 5, 2000, at her home. She was born on June 9, 1928, daughter of LeRoy and Ruby Washington Meggison. She married Paul Edgar Brooks on May 9, 1947, He died March 19, 1996. She had worked in the packing department at Glister Mary Lee in Perryville...

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Doris Louise Brooks, 72, of Perryville died Wednesday, July 5, 2000, at her home.

She was born on June 9, 1928, daughter of LeRoy and Ruby Washington Meggison.

She married Paul Edgar Brooks on May 9, 1947, He died March 19, 1996.

She had worked in the packing department at Glister Mary Lee in Perryville.

She is survived by a son, Dennis Brooks of Perryville; a daughter, Constance Gibbar of Perryville; two brothers, Frederick Meggison of Sullivan and Robert Meggison of St. Louis; three sisters, Dorothy Campbell of Cape Girardeau, Shirley King of Perryville, and Margie Ackerman of Isabella; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son and a brother.

Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Friday at Young & Sons Funeral Chapel in Perryville and from 6:30 a.m. until time of the funeral on Saturday.

Funeral will be held at noon on Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Don Estes officiating.

Burial will be in Home Cemetery.
