ZEELAND, Mich. -- Doris Rose Fenwick Baker, 88, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, in Zeeland.

Born Aug. 22, 1929, in Brewer, Missouri, to Earl and Mary Womack Fenwick, Doris was the oldest of 11 children.

Doris graduated from Perryville (Missouri) High School and received a teaching certificate. She was the executive secretary for a local hospital's first foundation director, was involved in professional secretarial organizations, was a member of St. Mary's Parish and was a breast cancer survivor who volunteered at American Cancer Society.

She is survived by her children, Michael (Janiece) Baker of St. Peters, Missouri, Gary (Julia) Baker of Zeeland, Jeff (Susan) Baker of St. Louis, Cindy (Kevin) Spaeth and Gregory Baker of Cape Girardeau, Jacqueline (Russ) Waltz of Mason, Michigan, and Christopher (Christine) Baker of Festus, Missouri; 17 grandchildren, including Justin (Lelia) Spaeth and Chelsea (Brad) Grueninger of Cape Girardeau and Ian Spaeth of Kansas City, Missouri; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Other survivors are her siblings, Jeanette Blechle, Norman Fenwick, Wanda Howard and JoAnn Brown of Perryville, Ronald Fenwick of Houston, Roger Fenwick of St. Paul, Minnesota, Madonna Ringwald of St. Charles, Missouri, Steve (Nancy) Fenwick of Cape Girardeau and Bruce Fenwick of St. Louis.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Dale Fenwick of California, and a granddaughter, Alexis Spaeth.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. July 21 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, with a meal to follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Private interment will be conducted later at Mount Hope Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
