She was born Jan. 28, 1917, at Fornfelt, daughter of William Henric and Maria Elizabeth Johanna Eifert Sprenger. She and Norman F. Wenskay were married Aug. 31, 1941, at Illmo. He died Jan. 30, 1997...

Dora Anna Wilhelmina Wenskay, 92, of Cape Girardeau went to be with her lord and savior, Jesus Christ, Friday, Aug. 28, 2009, at Jackson Manor in Jackson, with her family at her side.

She was born Jan. 28, 1917, at Fornfelt, daughter of William Henric and Maria Elizabeth Johanna Eifert Sprenger. She and Norman F. Wenskay were married Aug. 31, 1941, at Illmo. He died Jan. 30, 1997.

Wenskay was a "Rosie the Riveter" during World War II at Douglas Aircraft in California. She also worked at Ralph Edwards Sportswear in Cape Girardeau and Ely Walker in Scott City. She was a member of Hanover Lutheran Church, DAV Auxiliary and had been a volunteer at the Memphis VA Hospital.

Survivors include a son, Carl (Lori) Wenskay of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Elizabeth Lamer of Alto Pass, Ill.; five grandchildren, Jaimi, Levi, Dakota, April and Nathaniel; and three great-grandchildren, John, Nickolas and Noah.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City, and from noon to service time Tuesday at Hanover Lutheran Church.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church, with Pastor Anthony Kobak officiating. Burial will be in Hanover Lutheran Cemetery.
