Dora Holt

ZALMA, Mo. -- Dora D. Holt, 83, of Zalma passed away Sept. 14, 2015, at Woodland Hills in Marble Hill, Missouri.

Dora was born Feb. 10, 1932, in Gipsy, Missouri, the daughter of Allen and Jesse Gilliland Porter. Dora married Lorance Holt on June 9, 1951, in McGee, Missouri. He preceded her in death June 11, 2010.

Dora had been a homemaker.

She was a loving and caring wife and mother who enjoyed babysitting many kids.

Survivors include two sons, Lonnie (Kathy) Holt of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and Steve (Rhonda) Holt of Puxico, Missouri; two daughters, Teresa (Mike) Moore of Jackson and Brenda (Rick) Garner of Advance, Missouri; three sisters, Minnie Whitener of St. Charles, Missouri, Nora Strickland and Dorothy Myers, both of Gipsy; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Dale, Bob and Frank Porter; and a sister, Thelma Porter.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Rudy Pittman officiating. Burial will follow at Berrong Cemetery near Gipsy.
