EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Donnie Garrett, 47, of New Madrid, Mo., formerly of East Prairie, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.
He was born Sept. 27, 1953, in St. Louis, son of Burl and Lovie I. Pope Garrett. He and Deborah French were married July 24, 1982.
Garrett lived in Mississippi and New Madrid counties most of his life. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Sikeston.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Donald Ivie of Sikeston; a daughter, Michael Ann Tidwell of Charleston, Mo.; two stepsons, Christopher Sullivan of New Madrid, Myers Sullivan of San Francisco; two brothers, John "Butch" Walker of East Prairie, Lonnie Garrett, address unknown; two sisters, Rose O'Dell of Fredericktown, Mo., Georgia Bryant of state of Kentucky; a grandson; and three stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
There is no visitation or service.
Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie is in charge of arrangements.
