CAIRO, Ill. -- Donnie Doublin, 63, of Cairo, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, at Mount Vernon, Ill. He was born July 10, 1940, at Blandville, Ky., son of the late Shelton and Louise Barrow Doublin. CAIRO, Ill. -- Donnie Doublin, 63, of Cairo, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, at Mount Vernon, Ill.

He was born July 10, 1940, at Blandville, Ky., son of the late Shelton and Louise Barrow Doublin. He was married to Margaret Doublin.

Doublin was a retired security guard at Bunge, Corp. in Cairo. He was a member of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Gretchen Felts of Mayfield, Kent.; a stepdaughter, Lesia Stevens of LaCenter, Ky.; four sons, Jack, Jimmy and David Doublin of Anna, Ill., and Pete Doublin of Dongola, Ill.; a sister, Marie Dodd of Olive Branch, Ill.; two brothers, Paul Doublin of Paducah, Ky., and Ralph Doublin of Eddyville, Ky.; a grandson; and several great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Allen Fletcher will officiate, with burial at Bethlehem Cemetery in Wickliffe, Ky.
