Donna C. Pensel, 77, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, at Monticello House.
She was born Oct. 18, 1935, in Cape Girardeau, to Marvin and Amelia Eaves Langston. She and Harold L. Pensel were married Oct. 25, 1959. He passed away Sept. 17, 2006.
Donna was a graduate of Delta High School. She was a cafeteria manager 29 years with the Jackson School District. The Pensels farmed many years near Fruitland. Donna was an active member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Fruitland and its Women's Fellowship. She was also a member of Order of Eastern Star in Jackson and Whitewater; former member of DeMolay Mothers Club in Jackson; member of the former Byrd's Creek Homemakers Club; and previously served as a 4-H project leader.
Loving survivors include two children, Patti (Jerry) Siemers of Cape Girardeau and Dr. Rodney (Pamela) Pensel of Jackson; five grandchildren, Justin, Jared and Jonathan Siemers of Cape Girardeau and Katelynn and Lydia Pensel of Jackson; a sister, Dorothy (Larry "Diz") Hahs of Oak Ridge; two brothers-in-law, Gerald (Mary Sue) Pensel of Crestwood, Mo., and Ray (Mary Ann) Pensel of Cape Girardeau; and two sisters-in-law, Mary (Bob) Feemster and Dorothy (the late Carl) Pensel of Jackson.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. An Eastern Star service will be at 7:30 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Schaffner officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery at Fruitland.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. John's United Church of Christ Memorial Fund.
