CYPRESS, Ill. -- Funeral for Donna Penrod of Cypress will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola, Ill. Mason Montgomery will officiate. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. today.

Penrod, 71, died Wednesday, March 7, 2001, at Union County Hospital in Anna, Ill.

She was born April 27, 1929, in Dongola, daughter of William H. and Lova Lowrance Fisher. She and Howard "Penny" Penrod were married June 21, 1944.

Penrod owned and operated an upholstery shop. She worked in upholstery more than 40 years, did interior decorating, raised dairy cattle and farmed.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Dutch Penrod of Cypress; four sisters, Pauline Parker of Elgin, Ill., Billie Kelley of Jonesboro, Ill., Virginia Douglas and Betty McIntire of Dongola; a brother, Bob Fisher of Dongola; and stepmother, Verna Fisher of Dongola.
