Donald Wayne Witt, 64, of Hobe Sound, Fla., formerly of Scott City, died Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at Veterans Administration Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Fla.
He was born June 4, 1947, in St. Louis, to Delmar Wayne and Betty LaVerne Short Witt.
Witt was an equipment operator and served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his father; three sons, Delmar Wayne Witt of Sanford, N.C., James (Leslie) Witt of Broadway, N.C., Donald (Teresa) Witt Jr. of Waterloo, Ill.; a daughter, Rachael (Joseph) Wamsley of Merna, Neb.; a brother, Robert Witt of Benton, Mo.; three sisters, Arlinda McElmurry of Jackson, Patricia Ricca of Morton, Ill., Deborah McMahon of Scott City; five grandchildren, Allison, Brianna, Macie, Devon and Allie Witt.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lightner Memorial Cemetery in Scott City, with the Rev. Barry Pfanstiel officiating.
