CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Donald Rex Williams, son of the late Ralph and Maybelle Anderson Williams Lane, was born March 19, 1934, in Chaffee and departed his life Friday, Jan. 27, 2023, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau at the age of 88 years. CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Donald Rex Williams, son of the late Ralph and Maybelle Anderson Williams Lane, was born March 19, 1934, in Chaffee and departed his life Friday, Jan. 27, 2023, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau at the age of 88 years.

He was raised by his late grandparents, Alfred and Mary Ann Anderson. On July 31, 1953, he was united in marriage to Marie Covington in Chaffee. She survives of the home in Chaffee.

Donald graduated from Chaffee High School in 1953. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, entering in 1956. After his honorable discharge, he began working for Missouri National Guard and retired in 1992.

His hobbies were working with the Boy Scouts, hunting and fishing, which he enjoyed doing with his friends and his sons. He attended Chaffee General Baptist Church.

Besides his wife, survivors include two sons, Kevin (Genea) Williams of Newburgh, Indiana, and Todd (Guyene) Williams of McGee, Missouri; five grandchildren, Cody (Ashley) Williams, Dillon Williams, Josh Williams, Riley Payne and Rachel Williams; one great-grandson, Owen; and one stepbrother, Wayne (Mary) Chapman of Delta.

Besides his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his grandparents and three brothers.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30, at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bob Lewis officiating. Interment and full military honors will follow in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
