JONESBORO, Ill. -- Donald W. Wilkins, 76, of Jonesboro died Monday, Jan. 5, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 30, 1921, in Cobden, son of Roy L. and Anna Lence Wilkins. He and Betty Jo Nimmo were married Jan. 17, 1942, in Cape Girardeau. She died Dec. 14, 1969. He later married Emma Durham Yeckley Sept. 19, 1970, in Jonesboro.
Wilkins was a member of First Baptist Church, Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 of Anna, Jonesboro Masonic Lodge 111 AF&AM, Scottish Rite Bodies of Southern Illinois, and Ainad Shrine Temple in St. Louis. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Roger Wilkins of Jonesboro, Carl Wilkins of Fullerton, Calif.; two stepchildren, Shirley Corzine of Anna, C.B. Yeckley of Anna; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; and eight great-stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna after 5 p.m. Wednesday. Masonic service will be at 7 p.m.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Paul Sadler officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery, with graveside rites by VFW Post 3455.
