SIKESTON -- Donald Vance Parker, 77, formerly of Sikeston, died Saturday, March 1, 1997, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center. He was born Sept. 9, 1919, in New Madrid County, son of J.U. and Cora Mae Baker Parker. He had worked for General Motors in St. Louis for 25 years. He was a member of the Sikeston Eagles Aerie #3319, the Henry Meldrum Post of the American Legion and was a member of the United Auto Workers in St. Louis...

SIKESTON -- Donald Vance Parker, 77, formerly of Sikeston, died Saturday, March 1, 1997, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center.

He was born Sept. 9, 1919, in New Madrid County, son of J.U. and Cora Mae Baker Parker. He had worked for General Motors in St. Louis for 25 years. He was a member of the Sikeston Eagles Aerie #3319, the Henry Meldrum Post of the American Legion and was a member of the United Auto Workers in St. Louis.

He married Luella Mae Crawley in 1940 in Sikeston and she survives.

He is also survived by one brother, William Parker of Sikeston; and one sister, Dema Harrison of Fulton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel with Wayne Davidson of Matthews officiating. Burial will be at Garden of Memories cemetery in Sikeston.
