UNIONTOWN, Mo. -- Donald O. Telle, 90, of Uniontown passed away Sunday, March 6, 2022, at The Villas of Jackson Memory Care.

He was born March 17, 1931, in Uniontown to Edwin A. and Agnes C. Franke Telle.

Donald was a life member of Grace Lutheran Church in Uniontown. He was baptized March 22, 1931, at Grace Lutheran Church in Uniontown and was confirmed there April 3, 1944. He was a 1949 graduate of Perryville (Missouri) High School.

He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean conflict from 1952 to 1954.

After his return from service, he married Ruth Bingenheimer on May 8, 1954, at Grace Lutheran Church in Uniontown. She survives in Jackson. They were married for 67 years.

Donald was a life member of American Legion Post No. 133 and VFW Post No. 4282. He also served with the Honor Guard of the American Legion.

He was a dairy farmer and the secretary/treasurer of Arnsberg Farmers Mutual Insurance Co. from 1960 until 1996. He was an agent for Arnsberg Farmers Mutual and Farmers Mutual Hail. He served on the board of directors of Arnsberg Farmers Mutual Insurance Co. and First State Community Bank.

Survivors include three sons, Jim (Rose) Telle and John (Donna) Telle, of Uniontown, and Alan (LaDonna) Telle of Columbia, Missouri; sister, Marian Bergman of St. Louis; brother, Clinton "Tom" (Bev) Telle of Mesa, Arizona: seven grandchildren, Sherry (Glendon) Sattler, Susan (Jeremy) Hetzel, Jason (Tina) Telle, Andrew (Rachael) Telle, Blake (Klaire) Telle, Clara Telle and Luke Telle; and 12 great-grandchildren and two more coming soon.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Jeanette Telle; and brother-in-law, Carl Bergman.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church in Uniontown.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Paul Winningham officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery, with military honors provided by the American Legion and Delta Team.

Memorial contributions may be given to Lutheran Heritage Foundation, Grace Lutheran Church and Crown Hospice.

Ford and Young Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
