Donald "Donnie" R. Stone, 83, of Friedheim passed away Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2020, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born June 13, 1937, in Chaffee, Missouri, son of Heissie Edward and Blanche Edith Conrad Stone. He and Wanda Lee Slinkard were married Nov. 9, 1964, in Chaffee.

Donnie enlisted in the U.S. Army on Oct. 3, 1962. After being honorably discharged September of 1966, he went to work for Lemming Timber Co. in Cape Girardeau. He was an active farmer along with owning and operating Stone Garage in Daisy for 20 years.

Loving survivors include his wife, Wanda of nearly 56 years of marriage; daughter, Pam (Greg) Collins of Jackson; grandsons, Tyler (Lauryn) Collins and Taylor (Shay) Collins, both of Daisy; and great grandchildren, Lily and Lincoln Collins.

Also surviving are siblings, Jack (Carol) Stone of Oak Ridge and Wanda Lee Sparks; sisters-in-law, Mary Hanners, Ruth Hobeck and Barb Slinkard, all of Jackson; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Bill, Loy, Leon, J.C. and Roy Lee Stone; and one sister, Velma Dobbs.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Janet Hopkins officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

The family suggests contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
