SIKESTON -- Donald Semancik, 65, of Sikeston died Thursday, April 30, 1998, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
He was born July 16, 1932, in Vigo County, Ind., son of Steve and Izetta Hamm Semancik. He and Pauline Canady were married Aug. 5, 1978.
Semancik was a 1950 graduate of Clinton High School in Clinton, Ind., and served in the U.S. Air Force.
He was a meterologist with the National Weather Service in Cairo 35 years, retiring in 1987.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Andy Semancik of Indianapolis, Ind.; four stepsons, Doyle Canady of Morley, David and Tommy Canady of Cape Girardeau, Jerry Canady of Chaffee; two stepdaughters, Mary Summers of Cape Girardeau, Diane Amelunke of Dutchtown; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jerry Canady officiating. Burial will be in Blodgett Cemetery at Blodgett.
