HOWARDVILLE -- Donald Ray Farr, 39, of Clinton, Md., formerly of Howardville, died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 1997, at the residence of his mother in Howardville.

He was born Oct. 4, 1958, in Parma and was a 1977 graduate of Lilbourn High School. He attended Southeast Missouri State University. In 1987, he received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy and was Baptist.

On Oct. 3, 1987, he married Valerie Gilchrist of Clinton. She survives.

He is also survived by two daughters, Katya and Chontra Farr of Clinton; his mother, Eliza Farr of Howardville; eight brothers, Clavin Farr and Ronnie D. Farr of Fort Wayne, Ind., Kenney Farr of Waterloo, Iowa, Tommy, Larry and John Davis Jr. of St. Louis, Ricky and Randy Davis of Memphis, Tenn.; eight sisters, Gearlean Farr of Howardville, Maxine Jackson of Fort Wayne, Barbara Tippett of St. Louis, Gwendolyn Davis and Carolyn Weaver of Essex, Janice McFerren of New Madrid, Sherry Davis of Sikeston and Michelle Davis of Memphis; and his maternal grandmother, Iodia Johnson of Howardville.

Friends may call today from 11 until the funeral at noon. The funeral will be held at the Howardville Community Center, with the Rev. Willie Eady officiating.

Burial will follow in the Simmons Park Cemetery at Catron. The Williams-Farr and Purnell Funeral Home of Howardville is in charge of arrangements.
