TAMMS, Ill. -- Donald Ray Poole, 59, of Tamms Route 1 died Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, at his home. He was born Feb. 13, 1940, at Millcreek, son of Manford and Effie Lorene Sims Poole. He and Joann Henderson were married Nov. 3, 1962, in Dongola. Poole was a maintenance supervisor 29 years with Unimin Minerals Co. in Elco. He was a member of National Rifle Association and Pulaski-Alexander County Ducks Unlimited in Olive Branch...

TAMMS, Ill. -- Donald Ray Poole, 59, of Tamms Route 1 died Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, at his home.

He was born Feb. 13, 1940, at Millcreek, son of Manford and Effie Lorene Sims Poole. He and Joann Henderson were married Nov. 3, 1962, in Dongola.

Poole was a maintenance supervisor 29 years with Unimin Minerals Co. in Elco. He was a member of National Rifle Association and Pulaski-Alexander County Ducks Unlimited in Olive Branch.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Donna Ledbetter of Tamms; two sons, Steven Poole of Wolf Lake, Scottie Poole of Tamms; a brother, Gene Poole of Lake of Egypt; three sisters, Wanda Goodin of Town Creek, Ala., Peggy Smith and Shelby Webb of McClure, and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Friends may call at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms after 5 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. Dare Aden will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery near Dongola.
