Donald H. Nickless, 77, of Boonville, Ind., died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2002, at his home.
He was born Aug. 25, 1925, at Bernie, Mo., son of Adam and Nellie McMillion Nickless.
He married the former Mary Estes of Cape Girardeau.
Nickless attended schools in Cape Girardeau County. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was a member of the Naval Reserve Unit in Cape Girardeau and was called to active duty during the Korean War.
Nickless had worked for Frisco Railroad, was a modification and maintenance worker on military aircraft with Dyna-Lectron (Land-Air), and worked 25 years with Alcoa Warrick Operations, retiring in 1991.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Mickey Bryan of Brazil, Ind., Suzan Roedel of Evansville, Ind., Kristal Carter and Jane Dreyhaupt of Boonville; a sister, Lucille Vining of Middletown, Calif.; two brothers, Glendal Nickless of Arnold, Mo., Floyd Nickless of Pacifica, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, his parents, four brothers, and six sisters.
Friends may call at Koehler Funeral Home in Boonville after 2 p.m. Wednesday.
The funeral will be at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Steve Greene will officiate. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Cape County Memorial Park, with military rites to be conducted.
