Donald Ray McMullin, 72, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center. He was born Sept. 16, 1935, in Morley, Mo., son of Amos and Maggie Bryant McMullin. He and Sue Barringer were married Oct. 8, 1961. He was a member of Cape First Church. After earning a degree in nursing, he became a nursing home administrator. He was a previous owner and administrator of Maple Crest Manor and Frederick Street Manor from 1965 to 1999...

Donald Ray McMullin, 72, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center.

He was born Sept. 16, 1935, in Morley, Mo., son of Amos and Maggie Bryant McMullin. He and Sue Barringer were married Oct. 8, 1961.

He was a member of Cape First Church. After earning a degree in nursing, he became a nursing home administrator. He was a previous owner and administrator of Maple Crest Manor and Frederick Street Manor from 1965 to 1999.

McMullin was involved in his church for 40 years, and was president of Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship. He served on Teen Challenge board more than 30 years, and was a member of the Gideons. He was a former member of Breakfast Optimist Club.

He served 10 years in the National Guard.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Paul McMullin and wife Teresa of Perryville, Mo.; a daughter, Elizabeth McCanless and husband Josh of Cape Girardeau; a brother, A.B. McMullin of Springfield, Ill.; a sister, Coletta Koch of Cape Girardeau; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to service time Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gary Brothers officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Teen Challenge International Mid-America or Cape First Building Fund.
