BREWER, Mo. -- Donald J. "Donnie" Mattingly, 82, of Brewer died Monday, Nov. 28, 2016, at his daughter's home in Perry County, Missouri. He was born March 1, 1934, in Perry County, son of William "Bernie" and Mary Magdalene (Mattingly) Mattingly. He first married Shirley Mae Schremp on May 2, 1953. She preceded him in death Sept. 9, 1989. He then married Alma Trapp Regelsperger on Oct. 5, 1991. She survives in Perryville, Missouri...

BREWER, Mo. -- Donald J. "Donnie" Mattingly, 82, of Brewer died Monday, Nov. 28, 2016, at his daughter's home in Perry County, Missouri.

He was born March 1, 1934, in Perry County, son of William "Bernie" and Mary Magdalene (Mattingly) Mattingly. He first married Shirley Mae Schremp on May 2, 1953. She preceded him in death Sept. 9, 1989. He then married Alma Trapp Regelsperger on Oct. 5, 1991. She survives in Perryville, Missouri.

Donald was a farmer of both agriculture and livestock. He also worked for the city of Perryville water and disposal plant. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Sereno, Missouri, and Holy Name Society at Christ the Savior Catholic Church in Brewer.

Other survivors include one son and four daughters, LaWanna (John) Difani of Brewer, Sharon "Sherry" (Ronnie) Isreal and LaDonna (Mike) Riehn, both of Highland, Missouri, BeLinda Barnes and special friend Michelle Moore of Perryville and Jeffrey (Melissa) Mattingly of Brewer; daughter-in-law, Pat Mattingly of Perryville; two stepdaughters and two stepsons, Kathy (Kenny) Fluegel of Brewer, Mark (Debbie) Regelsperger and Kristy (Scott) Abernathy, both of Perryville and Mike (Sue) Regelsperger of Sereno; three sisters, Ida Berkbuegler of Brewer, and Velda Schremp and Carroll Verseman, both of Perryville; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren; and 13 great-stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Shirley; one son, Dale; one brother, Marvin; and one sister, Vera Zoellner.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with a parish wake at 7 p.m., and from 6:30 to 9:20 a.m. Friday, with a rosary at 8:30 a.m., at Young and Sons Funeral Home.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Sereno, with the Rev. Milton Ryan CM officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Sereno or Christ the Savior Catholic Church in Brewer.
