BERTRAND, Mo. -- Donald Ray Lynch, 68, of Bertrand died Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.
He was born Feb. 26, 1941, in East Prairie, Mo., son of Helen Peters Lynch of Bertrand and the late Cecil Lynch.
Lynch was of the Baptist belief. He was a self-employed mechanic and construction worker before retiring.
He served in the National Guard.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Allan and Dana Lynch of Oran, Mo., Jamie and Melissa Lynch and Keith and Tracy Lynch of Sikeston, Brian Lynch of Morehouse, Mo.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carrie and Darrell Williams of Sikeston, Cindy and Mark Vance of Morley, Mo.; the mother of his children, Dorothy Lynch of Sikeston; two brothers, John B. Lynch of Demotte, Ind., Carl Lynch of Bertrand; three sisters, Helen Jaco of Benton, Mo., Robbie Haddock of Bertrand, Anita Parker of West Memphis, Ark.; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A brother, the Rev. C.D. Lynch, preceded him in death.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery at Charleston, Mo., with full military honors to be provided.
