DONALD JACOBS

Donald E. Jacobs Sr., 71, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., passed away Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, at his home.

He was born Aug. 15, 1929, in Blodgett, Mo., son of the late Marlin W. and Katheryn C. Austin Jacobs. He married the former Anna Lora Murphy in Cape Girardeau.

Jacobs formerly worked for McDonald and R.B. Potashnick Construction Co. as an office manager. He was a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying and fishing.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge and was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Lora Jacobs of Cape Girardeau; son and daughter-in-law, Donald E. Jacobs Jr. and Barbara of Fruitland, Mo.; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and John Williams of Cape Girardeau and Kathy and Bruce Spain of Paola, Kan.; two brothers, John Jacobs of Las Vegas, and Robert Jacobs of Kennewick, Wash.; seven grandchildren, Donald E. Jacobs III, Spencer A. Williams, Morgan L. Williams, Marcus N. Spain, Jonathan A. Spain, Allison L. Spain and Joseph W. Spain; three stepgrandchildren, Travis Wade, Bobby Joe Sheppard and Kimberly Dawn Jordan; and expecting one great-grandchild in April.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter, one brother and two sisters.

Memorial services at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel, with the Rev. Don L. Kuehle officiating.

Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
