MOREHOUSE, Mo. -- Donald "Mickey" Hoots, 57, of Morehouse died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2002, at his home.
He was born Sept. 19, 1945, in Bell City, Mo., son of William and Effie Burkhart Hoots.
Hoots lived in Bell City and Morehouse most of his life, and was an over-the-road truck driver. He was a member of First General Baptist Church in Morehouse, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Eagles Aerie.
He served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include a son, Charles Hoots of Scott City; a daughter, Lori Hoots of Dallas, Texas; a brother, Buddy Hoots of Morley, Mo.; three sisters, Louise Loveless of Morley, Shirley Callow of Advance, Mo., Betty Hovis of Dexter, Mo.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at First General Baptist Church after 10 a.m. Thursday.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Randy Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery near Bloomfield, Mo.
Watkins and Sons Funeral Home at Dexter is in charge of arrangements.
