ANNA, Ill. -- Donald S. Fahlberg, 75, of Anna died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was injured in an automobile accident Saturday, Oct. 7.
He was born Nov. 25, 1924, in northern Illinois, son of Joseph and Oddie Tambur Fahlberg. He and Patricia Holmberg were married June 6, 1948.
Fahlberg was a member of the United Methodist Church, Union County Hospital District Auxiliary, life member of Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455, and immediate past commander of Townsend F. Dodd American Legion Post 344.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Nora Fahlberg of Atlanta, Ga., Andra Fahlberg of Olive Branch, Ill.; a son, Mark Fahlberg of Anna; a sister, Alice James of East Moline, Ill.; and two grandsons.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the United Methodist Church. The Rev. Sidney Davis will officiate.
His body was donated to medical research.
