Donald P. Dockins, 55, of Oak Ridge passed away Sunday, Oct. 17, 2004, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Oct. 5, 1949, in Cape Girardeau, son of Ira and Janie Hanners Dockins. He and Mona Roth were married June 27, 1970, in Jackson. She survives.
Donald worked at the former Florsheim Shoe Co. in Cape Girardeau for 17 years, before his health forced him to retire in 1986.
In addition to his wife, loving survivors include two sons, Brian Dockins of Cape Girardeau, Eric Dockins of Oak Ridge; a daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Robert Moore of Oak Ridge; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl and Faye Dockins and Jerry and Carolyn Dockins of Jackson; two sisters, Mary Lou Switzer and Almeta Long of Jackson; two stepsisters, Velma Hartwig and Thelma Welker of Jackson.
Friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, with Dr. Grant Gillard officiating. Interment will be in Cook Cemetery at Scopus, Mo.
