Donald E. Blankenship, 80, of Cape Girardeau passed away Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, at Landmark Hospital.
He was born March 2, 1930, in Cape Girardeau, son of Major and Faye Blankenship. He was first married to Delores Mae Trickey. On March 15, 1983, he married Lavine Proffer Kinnison. She passed away Sept. 7, 2000.
Donald owned and operated a number of filling stations in Cape Girardeau. He also owned AAA Auto and RV in Cape Girardeau. He was a former member of Red Star and Lynwood Baptist churches of Cape Girardeau.
Loving survivors include three sons, Bruce Blankenship of Cape Girardeau, Randy (Debbie) Blankenship of Jackson, David Blankenship of St. Louis; two daughters, Donna (Don) Bruce of Landcaster, Ohio, Michelle Blankenship of St. Louis; two stepsons, Mark Kinnison of Perryville, Mo., Rick Kinnison of Texas; a stepdaughter, Phyllis Kinnison of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Bill Blankenship of Illinois, Tim Blankenship of St. Louis; a sister, Doris Macke of Farmington, Mo.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers.
McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson is in charge of arrangements.
A private service will be held at a later date.
