DONA HORSTMAN BARCLAY

CHAFFEE -- Funeral service for Dona Horstman Barclay, who died Thursday at the age of 107, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

The Rev. Maurice Eagan will officiate and burial will be in Puxico City Cemetery.

Mrs. Barclay died Thursday at the Chaffee Nursing Center.

She was born Oct. 11, 1883 at Union City, Tenn. to the late David and Julia Badger Moxley. She married Charles Horstman in 1906 and he preceded her in death Nov. 13, 1931.

In 1948, she married Elmer Barclay, who preceded her in death in 1966.

She moved to Chaffee in 1931 from Puxico. She and her husband, Charles, owned and operated Horstman Theatre in Chaffee from 1921 until the time of his death. She continued to operate the theater with her daughter until 1971.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Chaffee and a member of the Chaffee Eastern Star.

Survivors include one daughter, Bernice Montgomery of Chaffee; two grandsons, Morris Montgomery of Chaffee and Paul David Montgomery of Jacksonville, Ark.; seven great-grandchildren; and three great, great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son and five sisters.

Friends may call at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 5 p.m. today.
