ORAN, Mo. -- Don Vance, 80, of Oran passed away Sunday, Aug. 2, 2015, at his home.
He was born July 23, 1935, in Allenville to the late Elbert Howard and Florence "Flossie" Cramer Vance.
Don served four years in the United States Air Force.
He was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church, St. Joseph Sodality, Knights of Columbus Council 4311, all in Oran; American Legion Post 369 in Benton, Missouri; and Elks Lodge 2319 in Sikeston, Missouri. He was a retired construction worker.
Survivors include three daughters, Jeannine (Scott) Stause and Debra (Brian) Frala of Oran and Kimberly (Bill) Crump of Scott City; a brother, Bill (Shirley) Vance of Advance, Missouri; three sisters, Carmen Propst of Advance, Violet (Lewis) Ware of Whitewater and Bessie Jane (Glen) Grojean of Cape Girardeau; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by a brother.
Funeral Mass was Wednesday at Guardian Angel Church, with the Rev. Randy Tochtrop as celebrant. Burial was in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, with full military honors presented by the Missouri Honor Guard.
